Q: What if we have a home that has multiple owners?

A: The "Named Insured" field must reads exactly as the title to your home. When you purchase a Mexican homeowners policy with us, you will be able to enter the complete Named Insured and ensure that it matches your ownership documents, such as what appears on your Fideicomiso, or deed.

Q: I had trouble printing my policy and/or did not receive a confirmation email, how can I get my policy?

A: When you purchase Mexican insurance from DriveMex.com, we email you the following items:

  1. A receipt,
  2. The declaration page,
  3. The terms and conditions of your Mexican Insurance policy and
  4. A link, a user ID and Password that allows you to retrieve these items. By following this link you may log back into the site to perform the following functions with the username and password we emailed you upon the purchase of your Mexico insurance online policy:
    1. Download and reprint your policy

    2. Cancel/Void your policy

Q: What if I need to cancel my Mexican Insurance coverage?

A: All Mexican Insurance cancellation requests must be received in writing. You can email us at Sales@DriveMex.com . Include your name, policy number, reason for cancellation and your contact information. Our expert customer service team will contact you with your request status.


Q: What is refunded on a policy if I choose to cancel?

A:

  • Prior to policy being effective

    • if buying again - flat cancel, you will receive a full refund including the full fee.

    • if not buying again - flat cancel, you will receive a full refund plus half the fee.

  • After policy is in effect - short-rate premium refund but no refund of fee.

If the policy is in-force:

Up to 3 months: 70% refund

Up to 6 months: 40% refund

Up to 9 months: 20% refund

Over 9 months: No refund. Policy fully earned.

Q: What happens if we have a loss in Mexico? What do we do? How do we follow up with our Mexico insurance company?

A: If you have a loss to your property in Mexico which exceeds your deductible, immediately call the toll free number included in the insurance claims instructions page or contact the claims department, which is part of your policy. Our adjusters will respond immediately to the scene and provide further instructions based on your specific situation.
